The whole idea of ichi-go ichi-e is that you may only ever meet a person once in your lifetime and it is important to make a good impression on them. It is a fantastic concept and really representative of the Japanese.jase8auhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14582069302006499855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3985569382279836889.post-58993167570466580682013-03-20T18:46:17.640+11:002013-03-20T18:46:17.640+11:00Hi Jason...I have been asked the same question abo...Hi Jason...I have been asked the same question about why I like Japan..I agree that the Japanese do try and help gaijin(henna) when they see we may need help.I'll just mention 2 occasions.Travelling at night on the slow train from Kyoto to Nagoya I had to change trains.Fortunately, the young man sitting next to me,whilst I followed my train station map, noticed I was heading for the wrong platform(he took an educated guess)and redirected me to the right platform. With a bit of good luck and a little knowledge of Nihongo,I managed to get on the right train.Another time at Nagoya station I had trouble at the auto ticket machine and nearly missed my train.A young man with a bright yellow hat and almost no english, redirected me to an office nearby and I got my ticket for Kyoto just in time.Wherever I went in Japan, people tried to help.Samantha also had a similar experinece when she spent a half day in Tokyo and people that she met on the train went out of their way to take her to Senso-ji by the Sumida gawa.Noelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03137421694632736091noreply@blogger.com
